Sarah Shepherd (Sarah2, John1) was the youngest child of John Shepherd. Her birthplace was Laurel Sock, Pa. The date of her birth was July 28, 1805. Her mother died when Sarah was a babe and left her to the care of her oldest sister, Margaret. Her girlhood was spent in Canandaigua, N.Y., to which place the family had moved in 1806. It was probably about 1820 when Sarah and her sisters Rebecca and Isabelle joined their father and their sister, Mrs. Margaret Engle, in their new home in Royalton, Ohio. Here Sarah was married in July, 1826, to William Gordon, who was born in Vermont, June 22, 1807.
They made their home in Royalton until 1836 when they removed to Tekonsha, Michigan. Here they purchased a farm on which they resided until their death. William Gordon died Sept. 4, 1862. Mrs. Gordon died Nov. 28, 1882.

Giles G. (Sarah2, John1) was the oldest son of Sarah and William Gordon. He was born Dec. 26, 1829, in Royalton, Ohio. Seven years later the family sought a new home in Tekonsha, Mich. Here Giles' early life was spent. He was married in 1860 to Miss Hannah Lucas, of Tekonsha. They soon went to Girard, Mich., to reside. In 1862 M/r. Gordon enlisted in the 19th Michigan Infantry. He was discharged in 1863 because of sickness. He died in 1864. He left one child.
ChildWalter's relatives have lost trace of him and do not know where he is.

Lucy Irena (Sarah2, John1) was the fourth of the children of Sarah and William Gordon. She was the last addition to the family before its removal to Tekonsha, Mich., her birth occuring June 19, 1833, in Royalton, Ohio. Of a half of her life we have no record. She was married Jan. 14, 1884, to William McDonald, a farmer. Their home was near Tekonsha village. She died March 17, 1909.
She left one child, a son, who goes by the name of Albert Gordon. Since the death of his mother, he has resided with his aunt, Mrs. Matilda Kies, in Tekonsha, Mich.
